Uterine fibroids are very common, affecting about one out of five women of childbearing age. These uterine growths are not cancerous however, it is possible that uterine fibroids can affect your fertility and make it difficult to concieve or increase the risk of a pregnacy loss. Submucosal fibroids, which grow into the uterine cavity may prevent implantiation and growth of an embryo. Doctors usually recommend removing these fibroids before attempting to concieve.
